"Time Management or Work Life Balance"
After a program this week the meeting planner approached me and said, "This program was about more than time management. It was about work/life balance-which is what our people really need.
Her comment was quite poignant. Most everyone can benefit from better time management skills, but what are you managing your time (and resulting actions) FOR? Are you just looking to accomplish more at work the next day or week OR do you see the skills as a way to accomplish more of what is important to you in all areas of your life?
The next time you say you need to improve your ability to manage your time and actions, ask yourself why? The right answer might provide the needed motivation to actually put the new skills into action.
