A Unique Gift Idea
Yesterday I attended a funeral and while there talked with someone I had not seen in years. They were one of those people who encouraged me when I was very young to have a "big world view" and to seek out opportunity. Our family ran a dog kennel and he would frequently drop off his beautiful Irish Setters for boarding. Before he left we always had long conversations about life, ambition and what life was all about. He was about 10 years older than me, and I valued his wisdom.
It dawned on me yesterday that I had never really told him of his impact on my life. So last night I wrote him a letter telling of my gratefulness to him for his guidance. Funerals always remind me that one day it will be too late to do such things.
Who do you need to write and say, "Thanks" for something they have done for you in the past? As someone who has received such letters in the past I can tell you it is one of the best gifts you will ever give-regardless of the season.
