Managing Your Time For The Long Term

A recent article from Conde Nast Traveler included this picture. It's of a beautiful train station in Detroit. The article included several other pictures of villages, resorts and shipyards that all have one thing in common... they have been abandoned. The Beaux-Arts Train Station above was built in 1912 and was once the tallest train station in the world, but has been abandoned since 1988 due to changes in the system. What a loss of the use of such a glorious structure. Think of all the resources spent to create it!

We, too, construct potentially abandonable items when we spend our time on anything less than what is most important. What are you building today with your resources... and more importantly, will it stand the test of time?
